Extrudex is a leading German manufacturer of single screw extruders and complete extrusion lines for the plastics industry. The company is a supplier of micro-extruders and lines for the production of miniature wires, that is conductors which are thinner than a human hair, for example 25µm. These miniature wires are used in various fields such as medicine, data and communication technologies.
Extrudex has developed an entire micro-wire line, consisting of a micro-extruder, the downstream equipment and rolling up the miniature wires. The equipment is built on just one frame so that it can be easily transported to other locations.
The company has many years of experience in this field based on micro-extrusion lines developed along with well-known manufacturers of medical products. These lines are used in the production of high-precision catheter tubes (outer diameter 0.55mm, inner diameter 0.42mm). This experience in rheological screw and tool design, reduction of material hold-up times, high-precision temperature control, as well as stable operating pressure, helped in the development of the micro-wire line.
