Auserpolimeri produces polyolefins modified with maleic anhydride derivatives. These products are commercialised under the trademark Compoline. The chemical and technological know-how in the manufacturing process is patented. All the Auserpolimeri products are obtained by reactive extrusion of polyolefins, without the use of solvents or batch reactors.
The Compoline range contains functionalised polyolefins that are different for hardness, melting temperature, melt flow index and graft level. The variability is obtained by using different base polymers (LLDPE, HDPE, PP, EPR/EPDM and so on) or polymeric mixtures and by employing different process conditions, in order to meet every technical demand of different markets and applications.
The company says: “All the Compoline grades available today are due to the strong cooperation with our customers. We pay careful attention so that no free maleic residue is left in the final product. Our products are mainly colourless and odourless and they don’t release volatiles during storage and processing.”
The applications in the Compoline range are as follows: CO/LL–CO/UL coupling agents for HFFR compounds; CO/LA adhesion promoters/tie-layers; CO/PA impact modifiers; and CO/PP coupling agents for plastic wood composites.
