With over 40 years’ experience in the production of low carbon wires, Lisciani will present two new products at this year’s exhibition: the SC90 mechanical descaler for low carbon rods with diameters from 8mm, and the SVD2 rod pay-off. With the same technical characteristics as the smaller SC55b, the SC90 descaler features a modular design that is easy to use and maintain, together with a significant cost reduction in comparison with other mechanical or chemical rod cleaning systems currently available.
The SC90 prepares the rod through three different stages: rod bending and scale breaking by integral tungsten carbide bending rolls; rod cleaning by steel wool wiping devices that remove the more adherent residues of scale using cheap consumable abrasives (commercial steel wool); and efficient lubricant pick-up and first drawing step by a special lubricant holder box and the FR5 high pressure rotary dieholder.
Lisciani’s SVD2 pay-off is specifically designed for low carbon rods with diameters up to 6.5mm. It is equipped with a plastic curtain mounted on top of the main column that separates the pay-off area from the surrounding work environment, thus preventing scale and dust dispersion. Under the base of the pay-off, a scale removal system conveys the calamine into external collecting tanks. Lisciani says: “The special design of the pay-off pulley allows any eventual snarls to be easily managed.”
